Smiles for Everyone Foundation
The Smiles for Everyone Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation that began in 2004 with a vision to improve the lives of people in the communities served by affiliated offices, as well as to aid victims of natural disasters.
Through the generosity of employees, affiliated dental professionals, and company matching funds, the Smiles for Everyone Foundation has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to aid the victims of the Haiti Earthquake, Asian tsunami disaster and Hurricane Katrina. Most recently the foundation sent a team of dentists to provide dental care to hundreds of children in Paraguay.
But the financial and medical support reaches beyond such large scale and notable causes; it also touches individuals in the local communities. In 2005, the American Red Cross recognized the Smiles for Everyone Foundation for its far-reaching humanitarian efforts, bestowing upon the Foundation the prestigious Circle of Humanitarians Award.
Corporate Outreach: Mission Trip to Paraguay
Smile Brands Inc., the parent company of Castle Dental, visited Asunción, Paraguay on a mission trip in December 2011, bringing critical oral care to residents who otherwise have no access to dental services.
The team of executives and dentists, nicknamed SEAL Team One (Service Expedition Accelerating Leaders), was led by Smile Brands President and CEO Steve Bilt. Together, they aided over 300 children, performing over one thousand dental exams, extractions, restorations and emergency surgeries.
Smile Brands Inc. and the Smiles for Everyone Foundation are planning two additional mission trips in 2012, to be announced in the coming months. The video below shows the experience of December’s trip to Paraguay and the power of bringing dental care to those truly in need.
