Preventative Treatments:

Preventative treatments are a crucial part of your dental health because preventing a problem is often easier–and less expensive–than fixing one. What’s more, most preventative treatments can be done during your regular dental visits. When combined with good daily oral hygiene practices, treatments like dental sealants or fluoride treatments can be powerful tools to keep potential issues from occurring and restore your teeth’s protective minerals and enamel.

Preventative treatments are especially important for children. Protecting their young, developing teeth now gives them a good start for a future of good dental health. A dental sealant can help smooth out deep grooves in molars or premolars that can be difficult for kids to brush, preventing bacteria from accumulating in them and causing cavities. The naturally occurring protective and restorative properties in fluoride make it effective in reinforcing enamel, strengthening teeth and safeguarding them from potential decay, erosion, or weakening.

At Castle Dental, we believe prevention is the key to peace of mind when it comes to oral health. Let our experienced dentists and dental hygienists protect your or your child’s teeth today for a lifetime of great smiles.

Restorative Treatments

Your teeth do a lot for you, and over time, they experience firsthand the wear and tear of our normal daily activities. Eating, talking, and even the stress levels in our life can lead to cavities, decay, and damage. At Castle Dental, we understand that living life with a beautiful, healthy smile is important, so we offer a variety of restorative treatments to ensure that no matter what happens with your oral health, you and your smile can keep shining.

Castle Dental is proud to preserve your smile with treatments like:

  • Crowns. Crowns are often used for people who have damaged or missing teeth or who have teeth that are discolored, disproportionate, or uneven. Crowns can improve both confidence and functionality and are a popular option for their convenience and affordability.
  • Fillings. Fillings are a quick, easy way to restore a decaying tooth while restoring the tooth’s integrity and preventing further damage. During a filling, the damaged or decayed part of the tooth is removed and cleaned out, then filled in with a composite material to prevent further deterioration, sensitivity, and pain.
  • Root Canals. Root canals are an important part of restorative dentistry. If a cavity goes untreated, it can often lead to an abscess–or infection–of the tooth, which is very painful, and a root canal is needed to save the tooth. During a root canal, the infection in the tooth and tooth root is cleaned out, then the tooth is sealed and covered with a crown to protect it and restore its function.

Bridges. Like the name implies, bridges are dental prostheses made of two or more crowns (artificial teeth) that “bridge” the gap between missing teeth. Bridges can be supported by implants or natural teeth and help restore the mouth’s aesthetics and structure so it can function properly.

Dental implants. Dental implants are permanent replacements for lost teeth, composed of small titanium screws inserted into the jaw and covered with an artificial tooth. Castle Dental has more than 100 general dentists who are qualified to place implants.

Dental Cleanings and Exams

To keep tooth decay and bad breath at bay, it is important to schedule regular cleanings with your dentist. During your cleaning, one of our highly trained hygienists will clean the surface of your teeth by scraping off any plaque or buildup that may have accumulated. Plaque is a sticky substance that your toothbrush can’t clean off, and, if it isn’t removed, it can lead to more serious issues like gum disease. The hygienist will use specialized tools to clean between, around, and in the gum line of all your teeth so that you leave feeling fresh and clean. Because cleanings go far beyond what just daily brushing and flossing can do, it is important to schedule them at least twice a year.

After your cleaning, one of our dentists will follow up with an exam to make sure that your teeth are all strong and healthy. The dentist will also check your mouth, throat, gums, and teeth for any lesions, discolorations, or abrasions that may indicate a bigger issue. They will review your x-rays for bone abnormalities or decay, and they will also make sure that your biting patterns are safe, even, and aligned properly, preserving the integrity of your teeth. The dentist will also check your gums for signs of gingivitis or gum disease, including swelling,  discoloration, tenderness, or deep gum pockets, as well as teeth grinding or clenching.

Castle Dental makes scheduling regular dental cleanings and exams easy and accessible with online bookings, weekend appointments, and extended hours at many of our retail locations.  We also accept most major insurance providers so that you can get great dental care for a great price.
