When looking for ways to find an affordable dentist, you’ll want to go beyond just using a dentist near me search. Knowing what dental offices are going to offer you as a patient can greatly impact the type of care you’ll receive and the price you’ll end up paying for it. At Castle Dental, we want to give our patients as many options to choose from when it comes to dentist financing. We’ve got a list of how to compare 5 affordable options and plans to choose the right option for you and your teeth.

1. Dental Insurance

Starting with dental insurance as one of the most common methods to make your dental care all that more affordable. At Castle Dental, we accept most insurance plans. If you’re unsure whether or not we’ll take your provider, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to check. We also file all claims for our patients, letting them focus less on the business end of teeth and more on the aspect of oral care.

Dental insurance can come about a few ways, but some of the most common are shopping for plans yourself, or by obtaining a plan through your employer if they offer one. Both are great options, and can help you receive great oral care at little to no cost. If the insurance is offered through your employer, we suggest talking with your human resources representative at your company to discuss which providers are given to you to choose from. Using that as a starting point, you can be guided on what type of care you’re looking to receive, what kind of deductible you want to pay, and who will be covered under this type of care.

If you are shopping for dental insurance for you and your family, you’ll want to take into account a few guidelines. First, you’ll want to look at what type of coverage you’ll be receiving. Most insurance plans should cover the cost of routine dental care. These are dentist appointments for things like professional teeth cleanings, oral exams, and X-rays. Then, you’ll decide what networks you want to receive coverage within. Generally, you can look to your health insurance if you want to stick within the same network. For specifics, you’ll want to double check with your provider one what type of services will be covered and what isn’t. Things like cosmetic dentistry or orthodontics may not be fully covered or covered at all with dental insurance. Knowing before you schedule your dental appointment will save you time, money, and the stress of dealing with the finances of your services.

2. Dental Payment Plans

For patients that don’t have dental insurance, or choose to pay for their dental services out-of-pocket, there are flexible payment plans to use to help manage the cost of your visit. This is especially good for those unexpected dental visits, such as a dental emergency that could leave you with the need for a costly dental crown or surgery. For moments like these, you can use flexible payment plans to pay back the cost of your visit in smaller installments.

One plan we offer is a low down payment and no interest. Using this plan you can put a small amount that you owe as a down payment towards the remainder of your bill. From there, you can continue to pay off your bill with no interest accruing, so that what you’re paying back is the truest amount of what you owed. For this plan, a valid photo ID and checking account, credit card or debit card are required.

Another option we have is to pay nothing down and pay no interest. We recommend using this option when you must visit your dentist for your oral health and it cannot be pushed back due to financial concerns. You should always put your oral health at the forefront, especially when it can impact the health of the rest of your body in so many ways. For this plan you will have to have approved credit. There are some restrictions when it comes to promotional purchases over $300, that they are to be paid in full within the promotional period. If this is not paid in full within the promotional period, interest will then accrue from the date of purchase at 26.99% APR. Keep in mind that this is only conditional when patients take advantage of money saving offers and promotions that run for a limited time.

A more flexible payment plan we offer at Castle Dental is allowing patients to use extended terms up to 48 months at 14.9% promotional interest rates. This can be applied to dental services that have promotional purchases over $1,000. There will be fixed monthly payments based on repayment over 24, 36, or 48 month periods. Patients will need to qualify with approved credit for this type of payment plan.

3. Credit Cards

Many patients don’t often think of using the same credit card they’d use to purchase groceries to pay for their teeth cleaning. However, it can be a good way to take care of your dental finances while reaping some of the same benefits you would get for other purchases with your credit card. If you have a credit card that gives you mileage points or other cash rewards for using it, you can put your dental work to benefit these earnings. Some patients can be more strategic with their savings by knowing which credit card can help them earn the most. At Castle Dental, we accept most major credit card providers like Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

Paying for your dental visit will be reflected just as other charges would be in your credit card statement, which is up to the terms of your credit card provider. Keep in mind if you have a maximum limit that is reflected on some cards, especially if you want to use a credit card to pay for a more specialized oral procedure. For these extensive procedures, you may want to discuss payment plans as a separate option to take advantage of a rate with no interest. There are multiple ways patients can go about saving while maximizing the benefits they receive from their dental providers! Knowing more before you schedule your appointment can help you attain the most value from your dental services.

4. Dental Coupons and Promotions

One of the easiest ways patients can save is through coupons and promotions run by various Castle Dental locations. Each location will vary, so it’s always best to check before scheduling your dental appointment to find what savings are in your area. They can range from routine teeth cleanings, to discounts on Invisalign. There’s always a great opportunity to take advantage of dental services you’ve been wanting for you or your family, but weren’t sure where to start. These types of promotions and coupons simply discount the rate you’d typically pay for your visit – straight savings!

For coupons and promotions, you can go about obtaining them a variety of ways. Castle Dental has an online tool where patients can type in their zip code and find the savings near them. The other option is to sign up to receive email newsletters that will notify you of what promotions are running in your area, saving you the time and hassle of researching deals for yourself. Either options are great for patients looking for a great deal on a service they’d already be paying for. Simply print out your coupon and bring it with you for your next appointment. Some of the most common offers that run include $29 oral exam and digital X-rays, or $100 off a dental service.

5. OneSmile Dental Plan

At Castle Dental, we’re proud to offer a variety of ways for our patients to save. We know that putting your smile first in today’s economy can be difficult, which is why we want to come up with financial plans that work for our patients. Another option to use to help reduce the cost of dental services in general, lies within the OneSmile dental plan. This is a dental plan by which members gain access to discounts through a low yearly fee. With this fee, you’ll receive free oral exams and dental X-rays, with no annual maximums. You’ll also gain 20-40% discounts on general services, specialty services, and cosmetic dentistry that aren’t offered with insurance plans or payment plans.

This option is ideal for patients that need an additional safety net to go along with their dental insurance plan, or for patients that have no insurance and have always paid out-of-pocket. Especially with a family, dental costs can quickly add up. With the OneSmile dental plan, you can expect to receive discounts on all types of dental services and not just the ones that are deemed as preventative. If you’ve been wanting to straighten your teeth for some time with Invisalign, this plan can help give you access to lower rates in pricing. There’s no limits on how many times you can visit your dentist, so you can continue to take advantage of the discounted pricing however often you’ll need to.

Because this option isn’t insurance, there are no restrictions to access. Regardless of age, income, or medical history, everyone will have access to discounted pricing with the same annual fee. Payment for your visit will be required upon appointment, just as it would paying out-of-pocket
