Healthy Party Food Replacements

Hosting a party at your home may seem like a dangerous way to slip up on your resolutions to eat healthier.

However, many traditionally unhealthy snack foods can actually be swapped for much better options that you and your guests will still enjoy. Dips: Instead of store-bought creamy dips, make your own using Greek yogurt. You can also replace them with salsa, guacamole, or hummus. Although guacamole can be high in calories, it is also full of good, heart-healthy fats, vitamins and minerals.

Dippers: Instead of typical potato chips, serve your dips with crunchy veggies like carrots, snap peas, celery, and jicama sticks. If you can’t go without potato chips, trying baking them yourself. You can also make baked chips from other veggies, such as beets, carrots, or zucchini.

Wings: Instead of fried chicken wings, try grilling or baking chicken wings or chicken fingers. For an even healthier alternative, try a buffalo cauliflower recipe. Buffalo cauliflower has the delicious flavor of buffalo chicken wings, but the goodness of a vegetable!

Mindless munchies: Put out healthy snacking options for grazing throughout the party. Try flavored popcorns, lightly salted nuts, apple chips, Parmesan kale chips, or mini turkey meatballs.
