Stumped on how you can support those who suffer from breast cancer? Looking for the best method to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October? The American Cancer Society estimates that 2016 will see 246,660 new cases of breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in women, behind lung cancer, which is why finding an event to get involved in is so important! Here are four simple ways you can join the cause.

1. Wear Pink – From baseball players to the White House, it seems almost everyone is sporting pink during October. You can wear it any or every day in October. This year, the organization Wear It Pink has chosen October 21st as their day. Check them out here: http://wearitpink.org/

2. Volunteer – Popular for their Race for the Cure Series, Susan G. Komen has many opportunities for volunteers at fundraisers, races and other awareness events. Find their Volunteer Site here: http://ww5.komen.org/GetInvolved/Participate/Volunteer/Volunteer.html

3. Hashtag – Something simple and easy, by sharing pictures, articles and hashtagging with #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth , you too are spreading valuable information to your own network. The more people know, the better!

4. Dine Out – Many restaurants and food joints across the country participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating a portion of their proceeds to Foundations like Susan G. Komen. One tip, look for the pink lid!
