There was initially a bit of confusion with my appointment and a slight wait, but everyone in this office was so kind and willing to help! Dr. Guntaka is probably the best dentist I've ever seen, and you can tell he truly cares about his patients. No one tried to upsell me on anything either, which is very telling and refreshing!

Chill. That’s how I’d describe this place in one word. All the staff, from receptionists to the techs to the doctors, are calm and soft spoken. They do their best to make you as comfortable as possible. I had to get a bunch of teeth drilled and a crown installed. And they made the whole 4-week process much less of a nightmare than I expected. And as for the question many people have about potential dentists: no, they don’t shame, scold, or lecture you for your pre-existing dental hygiene. They simply find the problems, fix them, and send you on your way.

I have been going to Castle Dental and Orthodontics in South Austin for a while now and every visit has been a great experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The dentists and orthodontists are highly skilled, thorough and always take the time to explain every step of the treatment. The office is modern, clean and well equipped. Appointments run on time and the whole process is smooth and comfortable. I am genuinely grateful to have found such a trustworthy and professional dental practice. Highly recommended to anyone looking for top quality dental care in South Austin.

Super fast in and out, they do a really good job, and don't overdo it. They also have reasonable pricing as well as an insurance plan that you can sign up for that reduces rates even more. Two different dentists, before I came back to Castle, were charging me way too much.

Your office was amazing they took my mother right away she had an emergency situation with her dentures my brother decided to take her and I gave him the wrong address but they were so nice to call him and give him directions. They still saw my mother even though she was running a little late thank you so much for being kind and patience with her she's a hundred years old and things could be difficult sometimes for her

4/10/2026/ Same review after 2 years and a different dentist from first review. CONSISTENT!! 4/8/2024: There are Great dentist experiences (Castle Dental this far in 2 different offices in Buda and on Westgate). There are The dentist that set expectations, stick by them, and don’t try to upsell you all the way. There bad dentists (Brident dentistry) that upsell you before you even hit the chair. Mandating payments that can be avoided if they tried. My experience at Castle Dental today was awesome! Josue was an excellent and thorough dental hygienist. Meticulous. Engaging. Funny! Dr Charles Jung is an honest and kind soul. Very informative. He passed my litmus test when I asked him if I should do anything about my bottom snaggletooth that is a little crooked. He responded with why it was like that. This was the first time I ever heard of this in my life and I loved it. It was because my existing baby tooth after 56 years is still there and is wider than a tooth that would have followed it. Thus pushing the teeth together and causing that snaggletooth. He went on to tell me that you don’t need to do anything with that tooth at this point. It’s not necessary and probably a waste of money. But he did explain what I could do which I politely declined. The cost of the services were presented to me before the services were performed. I knew what I was getting into 100% of the way. No surprises. Very important with the dentist or any medical professional for that matter. Go here and be extremely satisfied and happy! I just had my 6 month visit. No upselling and no pressure!

Dr. Kim is great!

Im pretty sure I saw Dr. Guntaka. He was wonderful. Another location messed up my first fillings and then when I was about 10 min late, said they couldn’t see me. Fair because I was late, but Dr Gunatka on very short notice took me in for a filling. He had wonderful bedside manner, got my fillings done quickly, and there was no pain or need to drill off anymore of the filling. Stupendous. 10/10 would recommend!

This is a great dentist. They do not try to upsell you, but they do have some nice up Chelle for teeth whitening and straightening and improving your smile. But they do not push it. And that’s important. I’ve gone to them for I think three years now and I’ve gone through three Dentist, but that’s OK because they have been consistent the whole way through

I had a great experience during my recent exam and cleaning. The team was very thorough, clearly explaining my care options and pricing throughout the process. I felt well taken care of and highly recommend the team at Castle. I’ll definitely be back for my next cleaning.

All staff I encountered was very friendly, I’m happy this location was able to fit me between patients as a walk in unexpectedly. Dr was very polite and respectful answered all my questions I had most importantly did not feel rush. Overall great service.

I was totally satisfied with the whole experience, from entering,to the procedure, and exiting, loved the personal professional touch this office had.

It’s not easy to find an honest dentist these days, but lucky for me, I found Dr. Guntaka. I recently got an oral examination at another clinic where they said my molar needs a potential root canal and a definite crown, which would cost me $2300. I felt terribly confused because I was told I didn’t have cavities at a previous visit not too long ago. It turned out I had a minor cavity under my filling and that was all I needed. Dr. Guntaka walked me through the whole process while helping me manage my anxiety. He’s a wonderful dentist. I highly recommend him :)

Deep cleaning was good and the hygenist was very pleasant and had positve feedback.

Very good visit. The hygienist did a real nice job. Where I was doing well was pointed out, and what could be improved was also pointed out. I saw the same dentist I had seen before and look forward to the next visit.

Easy scheduling, easy processing and payment using HSA and insurance. Kind staff from front desk, hygienists, to doctors. Always have a good time with them even if it’s not the fun kind of dental work sometimes(!). Particularly want to shout out Liz for making the cleanings go by quickly, professional detailing and advice, light hearted convo, and positive vibes all around. If you can get Liz as your hygienist then you’re lucky, cause the best! The dentists have made my oral health the best it’s ever been and therefore my overall health at peak as well! Oral health is overall health!

Update: I'm still going and they're still awesome! Original: I am torn while giving this review because the service was top notch, Dr. Jung is awesome, and the Westgate team is much more available than the Slaughter or Kyle locations we've tried, but I don't want everyone knowing about this great business because then it'll be harder for me to get in. But, I'll take one for the team: Do yourself a favor and get to Castle Dental and Orthodontics in Westgate for your next dental service. You'll never go anywhere else again!

Pleasant and great staff low wait times and great explanation of my treatment plans

I am a former patient who hasn't been in since Covid, and I developed an infection prompting me to call...they got me in right away, changed the antibiotics I had been given by my medical Dr and took xrays to locate the problem. I am feeling better and have a plan of care that will resolve my issue. All that for only $59! So grateful for the Dr and staff at Westgate Castle Dental!

Didn't have to wait and the doctor was very good everything was done to correct what was going on which was great he knows what he's doing .

The dental assistants at this office were very efficient and also very kind. The dentist was courteous and very thorough in my examination. Plus he made sure I understood the plan for the work I needed. Highly recommend this dental office.
