Get Ready for Back to School Early

Back to school time can be stressful for both kids and parents. With new and changing schedules and routines, it can be hard to deal with. It’s always a better idea to be over prepared than under prepared, especially when it comes to getting ready for the new school year. But preparedness isn’t just for kids returning to academic life; parents need to create new schedules and prepare for things like open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and more.

Back to School for Kids

There’s a list of things that kids need to do to get ready for the new school year, including getting back on a proper sleep schedule, creating a list every night of tasks to do the following day, and creating a schedule for homework and chores. When you set them up for success, it’s easier for them to start on the right foot and not get swamped with too much to do all at once.

Back to School for Parents

While kids definitely have their work cut out for them in preparation for the upcoming year, parents also need to step up to the plate. School supplies and clothes need to be purchased, and it’s a good idea to space this out to keep the budget under control. It’s also important to figure out how much time will be needed in the morning to get the kids off to school and how it will affect your travel to work, if it will at all. Added to that, after-school activities should also be sorted out. Will they be in daycare? Will they be picked up when the final bell rings? Having all these situations figured out before the beginning of the year will mean less stress for everyone involved.
