Give the Gift of Oral Health To Your Community This Holiday Season
‘Tis the season for reflecting on this year’s activities and milestones, giving and giving back. Which is why we’re thinking about all the smiles that come into our offices and the difference we’re making with the help of the Smiles for Everyone Foundation at home and abroad.
Smiles for Everyone Foundation was founded in 2011 by Smile Brands and since then has been able to provide 17,520 smiles and over $13.5 million in donated dentistry to communities in the United States and internationally. Many of our dental staff have participated in the foundation’s Day of Giving events, which help to provide dental care to hundreds of underinsured and low-income individuals.
Feeling inspired to give back like the Smiles for Everyone Foundation? During this time of year, many nonprofit charity organizations are looking for donations to help the individuals they serve prepare for the holidays. While food items are popular items to give during this time of year, many organizations welcome hygiene necessities like shampoo, conditioner and deodorant.
Equip someone in need with the personal hygiene essentials and more! Here is a list of ideas to build your own care kits:
- Travel toothbrush with carrying case
- Travel sized toothpaste
- Dental floss
- Travel size shampoo & conditioner
- Travel size body wash/soap
- Travel size lotions
- Deodorant
- Razors
- Band-aids
- Chapstick
- Vaseline
- Shoelaces
- Playing Cards
- $5 gift cards to fast food restaurants such as McDonald’s, Burger King or Wendy’s
- Socks
- Warm hat
- Gloves
Fill all these items in a clear plastic pouch with a zipper like this one. Or make your care kit festive for the holidays and fill up felt stockings.
Want to make an even bigger impact? Host a party and assign each guest an item on the list, then gather to assemble the care kits while listening to holiday carols and counting your blessings for the year.
