Most people could use more stretching in their lives and not just before or after exercising. Stretching is great for circulation, flexibility and even stress. Try these stretches to start off your day you can even do them while brushing your teeth!

Quad stretch: Start with your feet hip width apart, then bend one leg behind you bringing your foot to your rear. Try your best to keep your chest upright. Hold for 20-30 seconds and then do the other leg. You may need to work on your balance before attempting this one while brushing!

Standing hamstring stretch: Stand with one leg kicked out straight in front of you, heel on the floor, toes facing up. Bend your back leg and shift your weight to your back foot. Then bend forward at the hips and rest both hands on the thigh of the leg behind you. Hold for about 20-30 seconds and then repeat with the other leg.

Standing side stretch: Stand with your feet together and your arms straight overhead. Close your palms together, and then interlace your fingers with both pointer fingers extended. Bend your upper body to the right, take three slow breaths, return to center for three breaths, and then bend to the left and repeat. This stretch is good for the spine, abdominal muscles and the muscles between the ribs.

There are many other simple stretches you can squeeze into your day. Every little bit can help keep you fit and limber.
